Bob and Judy are graduates of Guilford College with Business Management degrees. Bob has been in the fire sprinkler industry since 1972, Judy since 1978. Sunland has been active members of the American Fire Sprinkler Association and the AFSA—Carolinas Chapter since 1983, serving on its board for several years and as its president from 1994 through 1995. Bob chaired AFSA’s National Membership Committee as well as the Legislative Committee from 1995 to 2001. In 2001 and 2002, he served as AFSA’s National Chairman of the Board and continues to serve on the Past Chairmen’s Advisory Committee.

Sunland Fire Protection was founded by Bob and Judy Rees in 1978. Like most longstanding businesses, Sunland started as a small company. Through careful planning and absolute dedication, Sunland has become one of the most reputable fire sprinkler companies in the Carolinas and Virginia. Our name is not limited to the southeast region. We have installed systems as far west as Texas, as far south as Florida, and as far north as Pennsylvania. We carry licenses in many states, and go where our customers want us to go.

As we eagerly anticipate the excitement of our 30th anniversary year, we warmly reflect upon and celebrate the journey of Sunland Fire Protection.

Each one of you has played an important part in our history. We could not have taken the first steps and continued on our journey without your confidence and support. We cherish these relationships and look forward to carrying on together in the future.
